Music of July

Hey guys,

So this music post is going to be a little different compared to the other ones I have done. First i'm only going to mention two and second I'm going to explain why I like them. So...here it goes!

George Ezra - Budapest (2014)

So I have only known this song for about a week but after maybe the second time I had heard it on the radio I just had to look it up. Because well...it's just so different and unique to the music on the radio lately that I have been listening to. At first I actually thought it must be something old but then my brother was like "No definitely not". So I was like "um OK then". So I looked it up and as usual watched a lyric video of it first and thought wait he says I'd leave it all! I thought he was saying "Bah dee bee d-oh" or something like that. I thought he was a shoo bopper! But nah so I guess i'll have to find another artist to learn more about that style. But back to the song! I think what makes a good song for me is when you can just sit wherever you are listening it to and sway and when I say sway I actually mean sway from side to side to suit the rhythm cause the song captures such a peaceful vibe, it just grabs you and digs deep into your soul.

All Time Low - Backseat Serenade (2012)

Now although this song may be a little different in style from Budapest, I still believe that it is amazing in the way that I just cant stop jumping in my seat when listening to it. Though their vibes are different they both have the ability to make me happy. With Backseat Serenade I'm just excited and bouncy, wanting to get up and smash something but with Budapest I'm calm and just well...peaceful! And I know that probably sounds hippie-like and whatever but yeah...that's just me so get over it.
Back to the song, I love the energy and excitement in the song and at its core the desire to take risks and pursue these moments of overwhelming passion. When songs do that to me I know in the section of my heart (about 3/4) dedicated to music that this song is what every song should make me feel like. Just the emotion and feels in it that All Time Low are expressing are enough to make me scream (in excitement of course). And I know that i've been overusing the word excitement but it's just so damn exciting I can't think of another word to use : D (hey my smiley face looks like it has dimples!) ((thanks default font for making my day)) (((well, actually my night)))

Okay everyone so I hope you all listen to the videos and become just as addicted to them as me. Lets spread the music mania, Ok? Ok. (lol i've wanted to type that ever since I read then watched The Fault in Our Stars)

P.s sorry for all the brackets i used. And if you want to know what brackets means, they're these little buddies  (  ) . Don't worry, I had to look up what they were called before I typed them in anyway.

Carnevale Ognie Scherzo Vale!

Hey Guys,

Today I am taking you on a journey to the heart of festivity in Southern Europe. Carnevale.

Carnevale is an Italian festival; the word originates from the Latin saying, “To remove meat” or “Farewell to meat”.
In 2014 the festivities began on the 15th of February and ended on the 4th of March.
The last day of Carnevale is called Martedi Grasso or Mardi Gras.
It is also known as Fat (shrove) Tuesday and is the last day of Lent.
The celebrations are amazing on Martedi Grasso and Catholics everywhere come to celebrate before Lent begins and they have to give up the temptations.
During the time of Carnevale there are parades, dancing, lots of eating, music and making of somewhat colourful and creative masks.
The parades include huge floats with riders dressed in bright and bold costumes with lots of dazzle.
The floats themselves are decorated immensely and often look better than the people even.
The parades usually have themes that can link to political or social talk at that time.
Though Carnevale is thought to have always been a Christian festival it actually rooted from the Ancient Romans and even Egyptians!
In the middle ages the church after trying to get rid of it altogether decided to add it to their calendar
When it originally began it started Boxing Day and lasted SIX WEEKS!
The people of Venice put on happy coloured costumes and performed in the theatres and on the streets.
The tradition of Carnevale masks began with the Venetian noblemen trying to amuse everyone by organising events.
Ever since the festival has grown and grown till it has become what it is today a wonderful multicultural celebration bringing together many, many people.
Jester, Dama and Captain Scaramouche are three Venetian mask characters, they have different personalities that show through their decorating and way the wearer acts while dressed up.
The Jester influenced theatre around Europe and was originally thought to be blessed by God with a childlike madness and humour.
The mentally handicapped in the middle ages where sometimes given employment to behave in an amusing way.
They are recognised mostly from their distinctive hats that are floppy with three points.
They have bells at the end that jingle every time moved.
Dama presents a more elegant sophisticated air for ladies.
Mainly laden in jewels and golden designs these masks were mainly worn by the aristocracy.
These days it is one of the most beautiful and popular masks used in Carnevale.
Captain Scaramouche is a boasting and cowardice character that talks of his part in wars but not of how at the first sign of danger he runs.
Captain is known to dress in a cape with a sword ready to kill. He is either a young man ready for adventure or an old mariner.

Imperfection is Beauty

Hey Guys,

I am me, I am who I'm meant to be. I am my past, my present and who I want to be. I'm not anyone, I'm all three. I am a work in progress, a destiny. I am who I chose to be. I am me.

Modern Martyrs of the World

Hey guys,

“He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.” John 1:10

So many of you I'm guessing don't even know what a martyr is so here's the English dictionary definition:
person who willingly suffers death rather than renounce his or her religion.

And for those like me who don't know what renounce means:
To give up or put aside voluntarily.

So now we are aware of the meanings of these words are we really aware of the true meanings to them?

To me it means that people in our so called "modern" world people are still being prosecuted for their beliefs. All these people do is believe in their God(s), but they are killed for it! Some governments are so scared of change that they have to expel all possible chances of rebellion. Cause what if their citizens realized how unfairly they are being treated? What if they realized their were better conditions to live in than what they already have? What if they rebelled! These are the questions that these governments refuse to become a reality. They keep their people in the dark so they can not find out that what they go through is not normal!

I'll leave it at that so you all can think about it. See ya for now.

The Reason - Judy Chae

Hey guys,

My friend wrote a poem the other day for school and I was just so amazed by it that I had to share it with you guys. After getting her permission I've finally had the chance to post it.
It is about Saint Sebastian the patron saint of archery (I guess because of how he was martyred).
Well here you go...

 The Reason
Judy Chae

I’m standing on the ground and tied to a tree.

The ground is cold like thin ice. A bird is giving me a caution.

I’m going to die now!

Everybody is watching me like a wild animal.

Arrows are coming to me.

While the arrows fly towards me

I think,

Do you know why I’m about to die?

I execute my job

And…

I just close my eyes.

Bullying (Prayers for Charlotte Dawson)

Hey guys,

I haven't made a post in a while but lately I've been thinking a lot about bullying these days. Cyber, Verbal, Physical. They are all equally horrible and i've experienced the second myself. These days bullies are bigger cowards than ever, quoting from a Macklemore song "Call each other faggots behind the keys of a message board." I believe what he means by this is that these people who are bullying people online are cowards they don't have the courage to face these people in person, they sometimes don't even know the person! These people face their own demons everyday but still think it's ok to bring this plague of pain to other people. Recently TV personality Charlotte Dawson committed suicide after receiving messages on social network saying that she should die. It was a well known fact that she was already suffering depression but these people still decided to say all these things. Now they swat away the comments to them that they have killed a person by insisting that it was her decision to commit suicide. And they do not take responsibility. That's basically spelling out coward.
Now on to verbal bullying. All through my primary school life I was bullied for being "fat" and "ugly". Society's messed up version of beauty made me the looser. If I tried to join a group I'd be pushed away, if I tried to talk to people they'd ignore me. What do you think that does to a kids courage?. Like any other person they went to school the first day a little nervous but excited for the possibilities held in front of them. But when they got there they were told to get lost. I myself went from happy to miserable. Not wanting to go to school, hiding in the bathrooms to try and avoid the terrible life I had. "It would be so much easier if I was not even alive" I thought. It feels like you've hit rock bottom, nobody wants to look at you in fear that they will be pushed away and plummet in popularity. But you don't know that when it is all happening. You think that there is something wrong with you! That they are right and you should just be dead for all your worth. What do you think that does to a kids confidence? Now not all kids deal with it as I did. I am so lucky that I was pulled out of the situation before it was to late. Maybe a couple more years and I would be like Charlotte Dawson. Dead. Alot of people who wern't pulled out of it like me, have committed suicide or spent the rest of their lives facing depression and never really letting the wound heal. I believe a saying once went "If you nail holes in a fence then take them out again the hole will never be fixed it will always stay no matter how hard you try" this is a metaphor for how if you bully someone you may say sorry but the pain is always stuck inside of them they always remember it and keep the scars.

I'll leave you all to think about it and maybe reply if you have your own thoughts on the problem of Bullying these days and in the past.
